A few words about a talented local artist James McCutcheon.
James genre is water colour and covers a wide scope of subjects from scenic to portrait of people and animals and still life.
Our first painting by James was of a beautiful village in England one which we had visited and has since increased to seven, five of which hang on what we refer to as our McCutcheon wall. The remaining two are particularly special and have their own places, the first of a steam locomotive at a station again in England which I commissioned as a gift for my husband who is a model railway fanatic whilst the second (which I consider to be the finest) is of my son on a hiking trip in Patagonia with one of the sled pulling huskies that was remarkably like our own husky. The absolute realism in the painting is brilliant particularly the hair and the emotion portrayed between the two is of particular essence. In all truely outstanding example of James’ talent.
Of all those that I know who commissioned his work or purchased pieces they saw and had to have they believe James McCutcheon to be a name that will be looked upon with pleasure in the art world.
